Data Deletion
Last updated: July 24, 2026
Overview
Cresa, operated by Crest Sync (Private) Limited, processes data on behalf of the businesses that use our platform. This page explains how to request deletion of that data, what is deleted, and how long it takes.
Self-Serve Deletion (Business Customers)
If you have a Cresa account, you can remove data yourself:
- Disconnect a channel — go to Settings → Channels (or Settings → WhatsApp) and disconnect. This stops further processing and removes our app’s access to that platform’s data.
- Delete records — remove conversations, contacts, or other records from the dashboard.
- Close your account — contact us to fully delete your account and associated data.
Request by Email
To request deletion, email hello@crestsync.com and include the business name, the connected channel, and any identifiers relevant to your request (for example, a WhatsApp number or page name). We may need to verify your identity or authorization before acting.
What We Delete
Upon a valid request we delete or anonymize the associated account data, connected platform data (page/account identifiers, message content, comments, mentions, media, and related metadata), and end-customer records we hold for you. Some data may be retained where required by law, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements, and is deleted once those requirements lapse.
Timeframe
We process deletion requests within 30 days, and sooner where feasible. Backups are purged on their normal rotation cycle.
Meta Platform Requests
If this request originated from Meta (for example, because a user removed our app from their Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp business), Cresa automatically receives the request through our data-deletion callback, stops processing the associated platform data, and removes or anonymizes eligible records in accordance with the timeframe above. A confirmation code is issued so the request can be tracked.
